Development Manager (Ocean Freight, Asia Pacific)

Job Responsibilities:

Take active part in defining, leading and implementing Asia Pacific Ocean Freight LCL strategy, product portfolio, processes and buying, in accordance with strategy of Business Division with the objective of achieving optimum profitability and effective use of business assets and human resources.

Manage retention of existing key clients and developing key customer relations in collaboration with Marketing & Sales and various sales channels; Undertake key leadership role in top level sales and product development initiatives to gain regional and global customers in order to gain market share.

Establish KPIs and and work with internal country management to ensure quality customer service level agreements are met, to achieve efficiency & cost effectiveness as well as product enhancement (eg. new routings).

Develop and maintain relations with global ocean freight carriers with head offices in Asia Pacific.

Take part in determining pricing levels and analyze cost structure of products at regional/country level.

Take part in Business Planning and budgeting

Set LCL specific policies, standards, procedures and instructions.
Support Regional Customer implementations of new customer solutions and processes.

Job Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, any field.
At least 5 year(s) of working experience in different management positions in a MNC logistics environment preferably in freight forwarding industry.
Strong Ocean Freight Product knowledge with Multi-modal product knowledge.
Preferably Managers specializing in Business Development and Product management or equivalent.
Strong problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills.
Business acumen, financial/budgeting and project management skills.
Adept to change management, strategic thinking and innovation.
